Curtis Maynard

Curtis Maynard has resided in Kern County for more than 45 years. The father of four, and grandfather of ten, Maynard has had a life-long interest in art. This interest has been augmented through training at Bakersfield College, private workshops, and other schools in the area.
Maynard is multi-talented and is an accomplished musician, singer, and composer. In addition, he teaches several aerobics classes a week.
Working in varied mediums and styles seems to be the key to Maynard's enthusiasm, passion, and continued drive for his art. His realistic
delicate, floral watercolors are a direct contrast to his bold and exhuberant abstract acrylics. His dynamic use of shapes and color make all a visual delight.
Artists Chalita Robinson, Al Davis, and Laddie John Dill are Maynard's most recent sources of inspiration and instruction, prodding him to strive toward higher goals and aspirations.
"Bringing joy or appreciation to the beholder is the main criteria for works being finished these days," says Maynard. "I just want my art to make a difference in someone's life, even if only my own."
It is with much enthusiasm and joy that he has agreed to visually share that inner part of himself with you.
