Jacqueline Parish expresses her personal interpretation of subjects and emotions using color and pattern as tools to give her pictures form and mood. She works with a variety of mediums to discover unique ways to define her style.
After a carreer in advertising and public relations, she earned a degree in art, working in monoprint, linocut, watercolor, and acrylic. Her collage work is self'-taught, at times influenced by Romare Beardon.
Her passion for music often influences the work. orchestrated in a rhythmic, improvisational manner. "I'll put on jazz music when I work on a 'jazz picture', for blues
when I put on a 'blues picture', classical when I work on things such as flowers, nudes, or portraits. Music is instrumental to my life.
